Laurel leaves are dark green and oval, glossy on the top and opaque on the bottom. Since they are very fragrant and aromatic, they combine perfectly with white meat, freshwater fish and vegetable soups.
Laurel is an aromatic Mediterranean plant, perennial and evergreen, which belongs to
the Lauraceae family. Native to Asia Minor, it is widespread in central-southern areas of
Italy, but also cultivated in northern areas.
