Orange
Due to its pleasant and bitter taste, orange peel is mostly used for the preparation of
candied fruit and jam, or it is used as a natural aroma. It is a premium ingredient for the production of spirits and bitters, and is often combined with other spices such as ginger and nutmeg.
The orange is an evergreen tree with white flowers, belonging to the Rutaceae family. Native to Southeast Asia, it is mainly cultivated in Latin American states, such as Brazil and Argentina, but it can also be found in South Africa.
