Chives leaves are thin, narrow, elongated and needle-shaped. Their aroma is similar, though much less pungent, to that of fresh onion. They are ideal for soups, vegetable, potato, fish, fresh cheese and egg dishes.
Chives are an aromatic plant belonging to the Liliaceae family, just like onion, garlic and
leek. Unlike the rest of the family, the bulb is not used, only stems are collected. It has a
delicate aroma and it is easier to digest than garlic and onion.
