The leaves of oregano are petiolate, elongated and glossy green. They have a sweet and spicy aroma, which become more intense once dried. An essential for pizzas, oregano is excellent in sauces, on vegetables and savoury aromatic biscuits.
Oregano is an aromatic Mediterranean plant of the Lamiaceae family. Despite its close
resemblance to marjoram, oregano is used with a totally different combination of tastes,
and is mostly used in Italy and Portugal.
