Sweet paprika
Made from dried powdered peppers and sweet chilli peppers, sweet paprika has a
delicate and strong aromatic taste. It enhances dishes with a spicy touch, without reaching the same piquancy as chilli pepper. It is used to season and flavour soups, stews, rice or
meat dishes.
The paprika plant is a perennial shrub, native to South America. The biggest European producers are Hungary and Spain. It is obtained by grinding the seeds and the pulp of
different varieties of Capsicum annuum: depending on the colour and degree of spiciness,
different types of paprika can be obtained.
