Chilli pepper is the berry of a shrub belonging to the genus Capsicum. There are five different species – annuum, pubescens, baccatum, chinense and frutescens – , which generate more than 4,000 different varieties of chilli pepper in terms of size, colour, seeds and degree of spiciness.
