Pink pepper (Schinus berry)
Although some refer to it as “fake pepper”, pink pepper has a characteristic aroma
which makes it perfect for giving that final touch – also aesthetically- to the most delicate of
dishes and is perfect for flavouring fish dishes.
The pink pepper is the fruit of an evergreen tree called Schinus Molle, which is native to Latin America, and mainly cultivated in Bolivia and Peru. Since the aroma of these berries
resembles pepper, they are used as spices.
